Do you think Parliament terms should be until the people in it retire, or have limited term lengths (I think about a month but I think that you should decide how long) with as many terms as the citizens will elect them to?

Andrew575: Maybe it should be until they either retire or are completely inactive. Only because holding 10 polls a month, approving all those forms, is a lot of work. I’m not being lazy, making all those polls and putting all the links in every post is seriously a lot of work.

Here is news: ACP is having a civil war between the Navy and Air Force divisions.
So I suppose if we help people’s income (or decrease taxes) they will have more money and spend and invest more. Although I’m not some person who believes in decreasing taxes for the rich because I want richer people to pay a higher percentage even though I have a rich penguin.
Okay, it seems like Head and Rap made up so now we aren’t going to have a Civil War. *sigh of relief*

I have an idea about the Parliament. House of Lords stick around until retirement. Lords may be selected by:
1) The king’s appointment
2) The king promoting them from House of Commons to House of Lords (what happened with our current Parliament leaders
3) vote
I think House of Commons should not stick around until retirement, although one month would be too short, because you said that it can be hard work. I suggest that as long as the previous election for House of Commons (this is when it is filled) is two months ago elections can be called at any time. Members of the Commons can be re-elected as many times as they run or the people are willing to re-elect them.
Here are the proposed methods, I think that perhaps multiple methods should be used:
1) A member of Parliament calls for elections, and if most of Parliament agrees, elections are called.
2) The king calls for elections.
3) The population increases sevenfold since the last election.
Of course, before the Commons is filled elections can be held as often as necessary.

I think the House of Commons ought to be aides to the house of lords. Sort of like the HOuse of Representatives. I am running for Leader of Ice Breaker guys, vote for me. I must talk to you Andrew.

I don’t think people should just ask to be in House of Commons. They should earn it. Anyway, I have another idea of how Parliament members can be chosen. When a Parliament member retires (s)he can appoint his/her successor.

Okay…I thought of something that might help Jedimaster’s Ministers idea and Freshzac’s idea about being assistant. I guess the Ministers could be co-rulers, kind of like how I was as assistant. (I figure that would probably motivate some people to become Ministers, kind of like how power and prestige make people want to gain rank). But Ministers have to be appointed by the King and must also be members of Parliament. (Can be from either house.) The House of Lords serve until retirement or impeachment (basically, removal for corruption), but elections can be called for the House of Commons anytime by the King.
Here are the proposed Ministerial posts:
The Right Honourable Minister of Defense: Helps manage the Police Force.
The Right Honourable Minister of War: Helps manage the Army.
The Right Honourable Minister of the Events Committee (I know it may sound weird, but it’s just a way CP differs from RL.): Heads a Committee for Tournaments in Hockey, Find Four, Mancala, and Sled Racing, parties, and any other events.
The Right Honourable Minister of the Supreme Court/Lord Chancellor: Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
Of course, I think there should at least be 8 MPs (Members of Parliament) before such changes take place.
Members of Parliament not part of the Council are the Back Bench.
The Judiciary Branch is appointed by the King on Parliament’s approval. The Judges serve until retirement, except for the Lord Chancellor.
Another idea I have is Question Time for Ministers. This is when Back Bench MPs ask questions concerning government policy, and can also ask follow up questions. A general question would be like “Has the Minister considered this problem with this policy, and possible solutions/alternatives?” A sample Minister-specific question for the Minister of Defense is “What has the Minister of Defense done about the recent attack or the recent crime rate?” Also, MPs can call for motions of no-confidence if they are able to provide evidence they able to do a better job than the Minister they are questioning. The King can dismiss a Minister if the Minister is caught lying or otherwise providing intentionally misleading answers.
